Becoming a small business entrepreneur is surely one of many peoples dreams. Owning your own business, wow! Each of us wants to be in control of our own destiny. We want to enjoy working at something that we love doing.

If you have to work 8 hours or more a day, in your own small business you will not mind putting in the extra hours, making the sacrifices it takes and the hard work to achieve your dreams. Most of us need to work every day in today's economic climate. Unless you have unlimited wealth, you need to work for a living.

Here is a good reason for becoming an entrepreneur.

Being able to go into your bosses' office with your letter of resignation typed up, letting him read it and seeing the look on his face when you give your reason for resigning: "I've started my own company. First part-time and now full time and as I am bringing in more money per month than you could pay me in 6 months I cannot afford to work for you any longer". The look on his/her face should be priceless.

Now, take a look at the benefits of owning your own business:

You can schedule your time to suit yourself - you are your own boss. There's no alarm clock, no rushing out the door without breakfast and no traffic jams to get through.

Your office is at home. Throw the alarm clock away, less wear and tear on your car. Have breakfast when you are hungry, not because you have to eat before you leave home...

No stuffed shirt boss, who pointedly looks at his watch if you are 5 minutes late and makes you make up the time by keeping you after work for an extra hour just to show you who is the boss around here.

As a small business entrepreneur you can and will be only responsible to yourself and your clients. No more wondering if you will have a job next week, or next month. You typically don't fire yourself unless you do a really bad job of running your own business. Then you must get some help. So do you homework first!

No "dead end future" in a dead end job. You know you have the will, stamina, knowledge and have been building your business for at least 6 months before resigning. You now have a goal and know what you want to achieve.

No more going without a pay raise or bonus because you need to keep your job so desperately that you have conditioned yourself into thinking: "At least, I have a job".

As your business grows and you become more successful, pay yourself what you think you are worth and give yourself a bonus. No more begging for time off work or taking a sick day because your little toddler got sick but your supervisor doesn't care.

You can plan your own hours and fit your other commitments into your schedule. You are the business owner, you're the boss this time.

Being a small business entrepreneur? Seems like a lot of rewarding benefits to me. You just need to remember that in order to achieve the success you want you have to be prepared to take the steps and the hours it takes to be successful.
